To stay healthy and enjoy the monsoon season to the fullest, it is essential to adopt certain habits that promote well-being. Here are five habits to keep you healthy during the monsoon season.


Maintain Personal Hygiene: Good personal hygiene is crucial during the monsoon season to prevent the spread of infections. Regularly washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds helps eliminate harmful germs. Avoid touching your face, especially your eyes, nose, and mouth, as these are entry points for pathogens. Keep your nails short and clean to prevent the accumulation of dirt and germs. Additionally, take a shower daily and change into dry clothes to keep your body clean and fresh.


Stay Hydrated: Although the monsoon season brings cooler temperatures, it is important not to neglect hydration. Due to increased humidity, people often sweat more without realizing it. Drink an adequate amount of water throughout the day to stay hydrated and flush out toxins from your body. Include other fluids like herbal teas, fresh fruit juices, and coconut water in your diet to replenish electrolytes. Ensure proper sanitation and hygiene practices in your surroundings. Regularly clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces like doorknobs, switches, and countertops. Keep your living space well-ventilated to minimize the growth of mold and fungi. Avoid accumulation of stagnant water, which serves as a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Use mosquito nets, repellents, or screens to protect yourself from vector-borne diseases.
